Fariz RM as a singer is synonymous with the song "Sakura" which was a huge success in the early 80s. Not surprisingly, many people thought that Fariz's first album was "Sakura", whereas previously Fariz had worked on a solo album project with his colleagues at the Badai Band (Chrisye, Jockie Suryoprayogo and Keenan Nasution) titled SELANGKAH KE SEBERANG. It's just that the album was choked up and was never released to the market. Fariz then worked on the album "Sakura" and apparently exploded in the market and his name was raised up substantially. Only then Pramaqua released this album. Not surprisingly, because it was deemed not going to circulate, Fariz included several songs featured on the album "Selangkah Ke Seberang" in the album "Sakura" with different arrangements, namely the songs SELANGKAH KE SEBERANG, MEGA BHUANA and CERMIN NODA. The song SELANGKAH KEBERANG on this album was sung by IIS SUGIANTO who when it was produced was still on the 'pop kreatif' track, and then it had skyrocketed on the melancholy pop track when the album was released, so the release of this album seemed to indeed get the 'right' moment when Fariz and Iis were both famous. It's just that, in the market this album can not surpass Sakura and (of course) Iis albums which were released. Even so, this album shows evidence that Fariz was quite extraordinary in his day. Young musicians who were able to jump forward and not follow the mainstream music that was prevailing at the time. Besides Iis, this album is also supported by the late Yanti Noor. The single "Selangkah Ke Seberang" was later successfully covered by WHITE SHOES AND THE COUPLES COMPANY in their 2010 "Album Vakansi".
